Here is
some general problems found during a home inspection.... - Asphalt shingle roof replacement
- If the original roof already has two layers on it, the cost of replacing the roof may increase and could go up
around 35%, because the existing layers will likely need to be removed before a new roof can be installed.
- Wet
basement - Moisture in the basement is all too common on long island. For some, the solution can be as simple
as directing the downspout discharge away from the foundation to properly drain downspouts. But for others, the only
way to solve the problem may be is to install an expensive interior foundation drainage system and/or excavate around the
the exterior of the foundation for water proofing.
- Central air conditioning system -
Replacing the system's compressor may run $1500 or more, but if the entire systems needs an upgrade that number can
double.
- Insect damage - Treating for termites or other wood destroying insects can only be
part of the problem. Repairing the hidden structural damage left behind will have to be repaired.
- Bad
Construction(original or new)-unfortunately some contractors cut corners from roofing to basements, and
this is shameful, We recommend checking out all contractors with the BBB of NY and making sure they are licensed and insured.
- Old or worn out systems-understandably with age, systems such as electrical, heating, airconditioning
and basic contruction ages and will have the need to be updated, repaired or replaced, and we provide the insight
into these problem areas.
